The Internet Channel* will dramatically change the relationship between your home, the television and the Internet. After downloading the Opera browser with Wii Points, you can surf the Internet from the comfort of your sofa.

*This Channel can only be accessed when the Wii console is connected to the Internet. If you have already downloaded the full version of the Internet Channel, you can download the updated version at a later stage free of charge.

If you download the Internet Channel after 10 October 2007, several new features will be included. Please make sure to perform a Wii System update before you download the new version of the Internet Channel.

New features included in the Internet Channel after 10 October 2007:

You can now use a USB keyboard with your Wii. Please note that some USB keyboards may not function correctly. Nintendo recommends the Classic Keyboard 200 from Logitech.

Next, a new function has been added to make searching easier. Highlight a keyword using the Wii Remote. The Search icon will appear in the Toolbar. Select this icon to begin your search via Google or Yahoo!.

You can also send the URL of the page you are currently viewing, or a bookmarked URL, directly to the Wii Message Board of a Wii Friend, together with a message. If you have received such a message via the Wii Message Board, you can launch the Internet Channel and jump straight to the page by clicking on the URL.

Finally, the maximum number of savable "Favourites" has climbed from 48 to 56.
